From: Jeff Subject: Re: The "Quit VECTREX" Date: Tuesday, November 02, 1999 9:17 AM (Just a quick note, I use the term "main PCB" to refer to) (the PCB that has the joystick ports, on/off/volume switch,) (cartridge port, etc. I use the term "video PCB" to refer to) (the board that has the high voltage unit.) Thanks to eBayZilla my Vec is now silent. Funny thing is, for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours it was very silent. :o) I accidentally wired the new signal wire on the main PCB to ground instead of the variable output of R326. Ooppppss. Soldering the new audio wire to R326 also doesn't require you to remove it. The only way I could see to solder to the original location was to do this(and I didn't want to). Again, be sure you don't ground your signal wire like I did. No damage done to the unit, but my ego to a hit. :o) I also re-routed the signal wire on the back side of the video PCB. This route only requires about a 5-6 inch wire. After I did the mod. eBayZilla said that leaving the wire on the inside of both boards sometimes requires moving it around to find that "quiet" spot. While I did place it on the front of the main PCB, this seems to be a safe place for it(I think eBayZilla said that the video PCB is the noisey sucker anyway). One more thing, on the video PCB, for my new ground, I used the pad right above C408(labelled G2). Removing the solder from it reveals a pretty go hole to use for the new ground. It's a lot bigger than where the original pins are. Thanks again eBayZilla! Jeff p.s. My unit had a strap ground and the system ground. The system ground wire(on the 4 pin connector) was black in my case. If you have a question as to what wire it is, just trace them back to the PCB, in my case "ground" was stenciled right onto the PCB. -- Entex AdventureVision Informational Site: http://www.adventurevision.com Vidiot's Video Arcade: http://vidiot.freeservers.com -- eBayZilla wrote in message news:7vm1eq$c9s$1@nnrp1.deja.com... > In article <1e0ltk4.131gc0mszlzygN@mimi2pool0-a49.mill.tds.net>, > cadimus@tds.net (Cadimus) wrote: > > > There are quite a few green wires that comes in a set of 4.
